Because if you go back and actually watch that entire season you'd realize that 80% of it is filler garbage, but that's what nostalgia does I guess.

As much as a surprise as this may come, the Hoenn and DP seasons were a lot more well written and had more character development than anything previously. Ash DID get better as a trainer, he DID learn from his mistakes and he sarted to become a trainer worth his salt, he planned out intricate battle strategies, and trained like crazy to become stronger, he WAS becoming gradually better as a result, and made it to the Top 4 in a League Championship where he managed to beat two legendaries. Not to mention his future female companions May/Dawn actually had a goal to strive for and also got decent development, unlike Misty who was stuck with that damn Togepi. So I don't really buy this "nothing ever changes" mentality. But this is just me being one of the few people who don't think the anime is unsalvageable garbage, so what do I know....

As for romance....well, in the new XY Serena does have a huge crush on Ash, then again so did Misty.

And regarding Origins, it's very clearly supposed to appeal to the older crowd while the anime is for kids, in that sense I always find it annoying when people constantly state that it should replace the old anime rather than just have both, different audiences watch one and the other so I dont think anything would be lost.MasterThiefnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5553633213256417629.post-16333660662283829452013-10-10T17:26:31.266-04:002013-10-10T17:26:31.266-04:00Pokemon X and Y has finally convinced me to upgrad...Pokemon X and Y has finally convinced me to upgrade from my Model 1 DS.
