Freelancin': The Death of the Star Wars Expanded Universe
I'm late again by a day. I'm thinking I'll just have to make this Wednesday series in order to give myself more of a buffer. Anyway, this is about Disney's announcement that the Star Wars Expanded Universe has been declared non-canon. What have we lost? Why was it necessary? And really, should we mourn?
I ... well I didn't understand any of that. But I'm quite sure the main point is we lost an encyclopedia worth of star wars Canon. I'm a big fan of the blog but I missed most of the last 3 ish months so I'll skim over that. Looking forward to next weeks freelancing, if you can think of anything by then anyway. M.R.
Meh. I'm not really that big fan of Star Wars. Oh sure for it's time it was a well made movie, but for the most part it hasn't aged very well. I only read one of the books and that was because I needed something crazy enough to write a book report and my teacher would be too intimidated to research if what I wrote was true or not. I got a 85%! But yeah I'm not losing any sleep if the whole sideverse is retcon. It's not like Disney can do anything right with a live action movie. I dare anyone to name 10 REALLY good live action Disney movies. And a update on Conception II: That game is bad. I thought it was going to break the mold on Harem games/visual novels, but it only enforces it.
Also did you play Child of Light yet, Blue? I'm playing and I'm really enjoying it so far. I think you're really enjoy it. Especially the artwork for it. If this was on the 3DS it would put the towns in Bravely Default to shame.
10 Really Good Live Action Disney Movies (in no order):
1. Mary Poppins 2. TRON 3. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) 4. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 5. John Carter 6. Old Yeller 7. Return to Oz 8. The Muppets (2011) 9. The Muppets Christmas Carol 10. National Treasure
Honorable Mentions: The Black Hole, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Cool Runnings, Homeward Bound, Remember the Titans, Tron Legacy, the other two Pirates movies, and The Mighty Ducks
